The participation of ten Brazilian companies specializing in components and machinery at the Simac Tanning Tech fair, held in Milan, Italy, between September 23rd and 25th, is expected to generate R24.8million(US4.64 million) in business, encompassing deals both finalized and outlined during the event. The national presence was supported by Brazilian Materials, a program promoting the internationalization of the sector maintained by the Brazilian Association of Companies of Components for Leather, Footwear and Artifacts (Assintecal) in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil).

Luiz Ribas Júnior, Assintecal’s International Market Manager, revealed that R4.76million(US890 thousand) in deals were closed in loco, along with 214 contacts established with international buyers, most of them from Europe. “We also had the participation of six companies certified by Origem Sustentável (Sustainable Origin), the world’s only sustainability certification aimed exclusively at companies in the footwear production chain, in a prominent space. The area had a large number of visits from international buyers who are looking for companies committed to ESG practices to serve demanding markets, especially in Europe,” says Ribas Júnior.

Qualified Visitation

According to the manager, during the days of the event, the Brazilian companies received a qualified visitation of buyers, designers, technologists, and managers from more than 50 countries. “The visitation at this edition was not as expressive as in previous events, but it was certainly much more focused on business. It was a very important fair for component companies, especially at a time of much uncertainty in the international market,” assesses Ribas Júnior.

The companies that participated in Simac, with the support of Brazilian Materials, were Smart Group, RBT, Primu’s Têxtil, RR Componentes, Dublauto, KS Solados, NBN, Michelon, BKS, and SystemHaus.
