The Brazilian Association of Companies of Components for Leather, Footwear, and Artifacts (Assintecal) announced today, September 23rd, that it will start promoting its member companies on the Buy Brazil internationalization platform, an initiative of the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil). The information was shared during an online meeting of the entity’s Export group.

According to Luiz Ribas Júnior, Assintecal’s International Market Manager, participants in international trade shows will now be featured during events on the buybrazil.com website. Functioning as a permanent showroom, 24/7, the platform allows companies to create profiles with information like a digital catalog, history, markets served, and international certifications, among other details. “The first promotion will take place during Anpíc, a fair held in Mexico from October 23rd to 25th. Before and during the event, we will share a QR Code to direct buyers to the website and communicate our participation as a delegation,” said Ribas Júnior.

Free Platform

During the Export group meeting, Juarez Leal, head of ApexBrasil’s Digital Platforms Nucleus, emphasized that the platform, with its quick and intuitive registration, will be open to all companies free of charge. “The only effort will be to keep the profile updated with important information for the international market,” he stressed. Launched in October 2024, the platform is used by more than 120 offices abroad, including ApexBrasil offices and the Itamaraty’s Commercial Promotion Sections. By August 2025, the platform had received over 29,000 unique visits from 161 countries, mainly the United States, China, South Africa, United Arab Emirates, India, France, Colombia, Japan, and the United Kingdom. Currently, there are about 600 companies and over 9,200 products and services promoted digitally.

Branding Strategy

Complementing ApexBrasil’s presentation, Tomás Bello, a partner at Castro, a company specializing in Branding, Strategy, and Communication, spoke about the importance of brand positioning in the international environment, linking it to the Buy Brazil platform. “Branding is even more challenging in the foreign market due to geographical, cultural, and language issues. Positioning on platforms like Buy Brazil allows for the creation of a bridge between the company and the buyer,” he said, noting that 90% of B2B (business-to-business) buyers search for information online before choosing their suppliers (Zoovu/Shopify research).

Registration

Registering on the platform is simple and quick and allows companies to reach a large number of importers. The site also has a “magic pen” feature that allows information to be translated into English. Learn more at www.buybrazil.com.br.
