A reference in the development of new articles, backings, embossing, and printing for the footwear, bags, and accessories sectors, the company, founded in 1986, implements ESG practices, especially in its environmental pillar. Among its highlights are the reuse of water in production and the use of clean energy, with 80% of its consumption coming from a photovoltaic system installed in 2019. “Origem Sustentável certifies our practices and positions us as a company committed to the expectations and needs of the current market,” assesses Alexius Kuntzler, administrative supervisor at Maurício Sintéticos.
With approximately 80 direct employees and consolidated partners in the Asian market, Maurício Sintéticos is an important player in the Brazilian market, focusing on the quality of its raw materials and the agility of its service.
The Program
Created by Assintecal in partnership with the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados) in 2013, Origem Sustentável is based on the best international sustainability practices, following the guideline of 104 indicators distributed across five dimensions: economic, environmental, social, cultural, and sustainability management. The certified categories are: Diamond (+80% of indicators achieved); Gold (+60%); Silver (+40%), and Bronze (+20%). The audits are conducted by independent bodies such as SENAI, SGS, ABNT, Intertek, and Bureau Veritas. Currently, over 110 companies in the footwear production chain are certified or are in the certification process. Renewals occur every two years.
