With the aim of becoming a meeting and reflection point to rethink ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) practices in the footwear supply chain, the Brazilian Association of Companies of Components for Leather, Footwear and Artifacts (Assintecal) and the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados) will hold the Conexão Origem Sustentável event on October 22nd. Taking place at the Faccat Events Center in Taquara/RS, the second edition of the event, which is part of the Origem Sustentável (Sustainable Origin) program, has already confirmed big names such as Veja, Heineken, Natura, Klabin, Randoncorp, Lunelli, and SAP. Tickets are available starting at R$ 50 (solidarity ticket, linked to a social initiative). Admission is free for companies certified or undergoing certification under the Origem Sustentável program. Spaces are limited.
The opening lecture of Conexão Origem Sustentável will be presented by VEJA starting at 1:40 PM. On this occasion, Luciana Pereira, Sourcing & HR Director for the French multinational, will talk about the company’s trajectory as a reference in fair trade and an integrated view of partners across its main production chains (agroecological cotton, native rubber, recycled PET, and organic leather). Luciana is responsible for the production chains of agroecological cotton, native rubber, organic leather, and recycled polyester, which involve over 5,500 families.
Following this, starting at 2:20 PM, Breno Aguiar de Paula, Sustainability Manager at the Heineken Group, and Tiago Agne, Sustainability Manager at SLC Agrícola, will participate in the environmental panel titled “Building the Sustainable Tomorrow Today.” The professionals will share their respective case studies of action aligned with the environmental pillar of ESG practices in the beverage and agricultural markets.
At 3:15 PM, the social panel titled “Impacting People, Transforming Realities” begins, featuring Deise Branco, People and Management Manager at Klabin, and Mariana Riskoski Emmerich, Sustainability Specialist at Lunelli. In the discussion, the specialists will detail social sustainability initiatives adopted by both companies.
Completing the ESG practice cycle, the governance panel will take place starting at 4:25 PM, where specialists from SAP (Mateus Grings, Sustainability Adoption Facilitator) and Randoncorp (Luciane Sartori, Health, Safety, Environment, and ESG Manager) will discuss how to “Lead with Ethics and Responsibility.”
The Conexão Origem Sustentável concludes with another national reference in all pillars of sustainability. Starting at 5:20 PM, Allan Scartezini Foster, Carbon and Circularity Coordinator at Natura, will take the stage to present the company’s sustainability strategy, exploring its journey from a sustainable model to a regenerative future. The challenges and achievements in managing decarbonization and circularity plans adopted by Natura will be discussed.
The event will also feature access to companies exhibiting ESG solutions, including the already confirmed: Pegada Neutra, IBTeC, ESG Now, Ecovalor, and Fundação Proamb. After 6:00 PM, a networking and relationship cocktail reception will be offered to participants.
Kisafix and Sicredi are Gold sponsors of the event. The partnership is with Sebrae Nacional and Sebrae RS, with support from Colorgraf, Dem Bas, Faccat, Ambiente Verde, and Ecovalor. The content curation is by Conversas Sustentáveis.
