The 33rd edition of INSPIRAMAIS, the leading trade show for fashion industry materials, is now open for registration. The event, which brings together over 150 companies specializing in components, chemicals, and leathers, will take place on January 27 and 28, 2026, at the Fiergs Events Center in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul.

At the 33rd edition, more than a thousand innovative and sustainable materials will be launched, based on the The Turning Point research. The study is inspired by the book “The Turning Point” written by Fritjof Capra in 1981. Walter Rodrigues, coordinator of the Research and Design Center at the Brazilian Association of Companies of Components for Leather, Footwear and Artifacts (Assintecal), says the study, which is in the practical development phase with companies, points to the need for a turning point from an ecological and feminine perspective. Within this context, the research suggests that the world is moving from a “Liquid Modernity,” a concept popularized by Bauman where everything was fluid, to a “Gaseous Modernity,” where things no longer just flow but “evaporate into the air,” conveying an idea of volatility and speed.

In this context, The Turning Point introduces three themes. The first is “Gaseous Holistic,” which, from a feminine point of view, presents design as a means of contemplation, regeneration, and affection with technology. “Here, we have a lot of lightness and silhouettes in materials that act as a channel for transformation, evoking movement, light, and vapor. Fashion, in this context, is greatly aided by Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies in its creations. This theme is dominated by materials with transparencies, tulles, nylons, volumes, and blends.”

The “Biological Gaseous” theme is influenced by the digital ancestor, with organic textures, many layers, cellular (plasma-like) and gelatinous aspects, amorphous shapes, and futurism, all with the help of AI. The featured materials are biopolymers, nanocelluloses, and fabrics developed with bacterial cultures.

The third theme is Rupture, which reinforces the need for transformation and the creation of “narrative disorders.” The importance of going against the status quo and making space for the recovery of individuality lost in a homogeneous world permeated by repetition is fundamental. The revision of form, a strong trend of the 1980s, reappears, bringing a sense of strangeness, while maintaining classic bases and highlighting inventiveness in shapes. For material creations, the predominant influences are three-dimensional constructions, with abrupt folds, overlays, and fragmentations, using the body as a basis for creating new geometries.

The color palette of The Turning Point features ice violet, yellow, and acqua as the main colors.

Business

In addition to new material launches, INSPIRAMAIS is an event focused on business, both with domestic and international clients. More than 8,000 visitors are expected for the event, with some from countries in Europe and Latin America. “Last year alone, sales to the international market through our Buyer Project, conducted in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil), exceeded R$44 million,” recalls Silvana Dilly, Assintecal’s superintendent. According to her, the expected growth in footwear production, which accounts for over 60% of component and chemical sales, should have a positive impact on INSPIRAMAIS.

The Show

INSPIRAMAIS is organized by Assintecal in partnership with the Center for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB), the Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association (Abit), and the Brazilian Furniture Industries Association (Abimóvel). It is sponsored by Brazilian Materials and partnered with Sebrae Nacional. Learn more at the website: www.inspiramais.com.br.
