With an estimated average annual growth of 7% according to Mordor Intelligence, the automotive upholstery market is attracting attention from the component-producing industry. Traditionally focused on supplying the footwear and leather markets, this segment now sees an opportunity to expand into the automotive upholstery sector. In this context, the Brazilian Association of Companies of Components for Leather, Footwear and Artifacts (Assintecal) announces a specific workshop on the topic at the upcoming INSPIRAMAIS, the largest materials exhibition in Latin America. The event will take place at the Pro Magno Event Center in São Paulo, SP, on July 15 and 16.

Silvana Dilly, Assintecal’s superintendent, highlights that the automotive upholstery market has grown significantly, driven by the demand for safety, comfort, technological innovation, and personalized solutions. “This growth has stimulated the development of new technologies and materials, promoting investments in research and product improvement. In response to this dynamism and to keep up with emerging trends, we are bringing a project to INSPIRAMAIS that aims to showcase innovations and offer advanced solutions for the sector,” she explains, emphasizing the potential for the cross-sector application of the materials to be presented at the exhibition. In total, more than 150 material exhibitors from Brazil’s main manufacturing hubs are expected. Attendance is estimated at over 7,000 buyers from Brazil and abroad.

The Workshop

The Automotive Upholstery workshop will run on both days of the event in an exclusive area, where specialized upholsterers will apply materials to renovate the vehicles on display. “During the two days of the event, we created an exclusive space where specialized upholsterers can demonstrate, live, how materials can be applied in automotive customization. They will transform inputs provided by INSPIRAMAIS exhibitors into exclusive coverings for steering wheels, seats, and other automotive finishes, demonstrating the full potential of these products,” says Silvana.

Business Roundtables

In addition to the workshop, INSPIRAMAIS will host a Business Roundtable for materials suppliers and national and international buyers. These roundtables will take place in an exclusive area for pre-scheduled meetings, specially prepared for a direct connection between companies and key players in the sector. “Participating in the roundtables will be a unique opportunity to present products, strengthen relationships, and generate business with major names in the automotive market, with a full focus on innovation and the consolidation of qualified partnerships,” Silvana notes.
